Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about QuoCAD onboarding, takeoffs, quotes, plans, payments, data, and troubleshooting.
General
What is QuoCAD?
QuoCAD is a web app for parking lot striping contractors. It helps turn site photos, plans, addresses, and satellite views into takeoffs, layouts, internal reports, and customer-ready quotes.
Who is QuoCAD built for?
QuoCAD is built for striping contractors, estimators, business owners, office and admin users, and teams that need a faster way to measure lots, prepare quotes, and manage striping job information.
Is QuoCAD full CAD software?
No. QuoCAD is a contractor-friendly takeoff and quote tool for parking lot striping workflows. It is lighter than traditional CAD and focused on real estimating and layout tasks.
Do I need CAD experience to use QuoCAD?
No. QuoCAD is designed for contractors who need practical measuring, markup, and quoting tools without learning a full CAD system.
Can I use QuoCAD for repaint jobs?
Yes. You can start from a site photo, plan, address, or satellite view, calibrate scale, trace existing markings, and prepare quantities and quote details.
Read the full guide →Can I use QuoCAD for new layouts?
Yes. You can draft layout concepts, draw stalls and markings, and estimate work. Final layout, compliance, engineering, and site verification remain your responsibility.
Getting started
How do I create an account?
Click Get started or Start now, enter your name, email, and password, then confirm your email if prompted.
Read the full guide →What happens after signup?
You give your company name and country, then name your first project and go straight into the editor. Pricing, materials and team settings all have sensible defaults you can change later in Settings.
Read the full guide →What is a workspace?
A workspace is where your company's jobs, settings, pricing defaults, quotes, reports, files, materials, billing, and team settings live.
Why does QuoCAD ask for my country?
Your country sets currency, units, locale, tax defaults and date formats automatically, so quotes and reports come out right without you configuring them. You are still responsible for confirming local requirements before performing work.
Can I skip pricing setup during onboarding?
Yes. You can skip pricing basics and update paint, labor, margin, tax, and material defaults later in Settings.
What browser should I use?
For the best editor experience, use the latest Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop. The takeoff editor works best on a larger screen.
Jobs and editor
How do I create a job?
Open Jobs, click Create job, enter the job name and address, link or add the customer, choose a project type if available, then add an image or map view and calibrate scale.
Read the full guide →Do I have to upload a CAD file?
No. You can start from a site photo, plan image, address, or satellite/map view.
Why is scale calibration important?
Scale controls every measurement. If it is missing or wrong, quantities, paint estimates, labor estimates and quote totals will be wrong — and QuoCAD cannot detect a wrong scale when the value still looks plausible. Calibrate against the longest distance you can confirm before you draw, and field-verify quantities on site before you bid or order material.
Read the full guide →What can I draw in QuoCAD?
QuoCAD supports striping-focused tools such as stalls, accessibility markings, pavement markings, zones, curbs, lines, text, and measurements.
Read the full guide →Where do I find tool settings?
Tool settings are usually in the bottom context bar and the right inspector. Select an object or active tool to see relevant options.
Why do measurements look wrong?
The most common reason is incorrect scale. Recalibrate the image scale first, then review image alignment and layer settings.
Read the full guide →Can I use satellite images?
Yes. Enter the property address and QuoCAD opens an interactive satellite editor you draw the takeoff directly on. Interactive mapping is included on every paid plan, subject to reasonable and fair use.
Quotes and reports
How are quotes created?
QuoCAD uses the job, takeoff quantities, pricing defaults, taxes, notes, and customer information to help prepare a customer-facing quote in the Proposal tab.
Read the full guide →What should I check before sending a quote?
Check the customer name, recipient email, job address, scope, line items, taxes, total, public notes, and the quote preview.
Read the full guide →Will customers see my internal cost or profit?
No. Customer-facing quotes show customer-ready scope and pricing. Internal cost, labor assumptions, profit, and margin stay in the internal Breakdown report.
Read the full guide →What is the difference between Quote and Report?
Use the Proposal tab for customer-facing pricing and scope. Use the Breakdown tab and Reports workspace for internal quantities, cost review, production planning, and job analysis.
Read the full guide →Can I compare multiple jobs?
Yes. Use the Reports workspace to filter, select, compare, export, and print groups of jobs.
Read the full guide →Why is a job missing from Reports?
Check the search filters, date filters, status filters, selected jobs, and the current workspace.

What plans are available?
QuoCAD currently offers Starter, Pro, and Team plans. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
Read the full guide →How much does QuoCAD cost?
Pricing is shown in your region's currency on the pricing page and your Billing page. Annual billing may be available and is marketed as saving two months compared to monthly.
Read the full guide →Do I need a subscription to use QuoCAD?
You need a paid plan to keep working, but not to start. Every new workspace begins with a free 14-day Pro trial that needs no credit card; after it ends, pick Starter, Pro, or Team on the Billing page. There is no permanently free tier. Without an active plan the workspace turns read-only — your jobs, takeoffs and quotes stay readable, but you cannot create or edit until you subscribe.
Read the full guide →Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Use Settings → Billing — either the "Cancel subscription" link or Manage billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period; after that your workspace turns read-only, so your jobs, takeoffs and quotes stay readable, and you can resubscribe anytime from the Billing page.
Read the full guide →Where do I download invoices?
Open Settings → Billing → Manage billing to access subscription invoices and payment method options.
Read the full guide →Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new workspace gets 14 days of the Pro plan, free and without a credit card. The 14 days start when you finish setting up your workspace. Because there is no card on file, nothing is charged when the trial ends and there is nothing to cancel — the workspace simply becomes read-only, so every job, takeoff and quote you created stays readable, and choosing a plan on the Billing page restores editing. The trial runs once per workspace and does not restart.
Read the full guide →What is the refund policy?
Refunds are reviewed case by case unless otherwise stated on your checkout, invoice, or written agreement. Contact support with your workspace name, account email, invoice number, and reason for the request.
Read the full guide →What happens if I reach a plan limit?
You may need to archive jobs, reduce storage, wait for a quota reset, or upgrade your plan, depending on the limit.

Can customers pay invoices online?
If your plan includes online payments and Stripe is connected, customers may be able to pay invoices online.
Read the full guide →How do I connect Stripe?
An owner or admin can open Settings → Payments and follow the Stripe connection flow if the feature is available for the workspace.
Read the full guide →Does QuoCAD store credit card details?
No. Online payments are handled through Stripe. QuoCAD does not store customer card details directly.
Read the full guide →Who manages refunds, payouts, and disputes?
Your business manages Stripe account settings, payouts, refunds, disputes, taxes, and payment policies.

Can multiple users work in one workspace?
Yes, on supported Team plans. Team features can include shared workspace access, roles, assignments, and audit logs.
Read the full guide →What roles are available?
Typical roles include owner, admin, estimator, field, and viewer. Exact permissions may depend on your plan and workspace configuration.
Read the full guide →Who can manage team members?
Owners and admins manage team invitations and roles.
Read the full guide →What happens when a team member is removed?
Their access to the workspace is revoked. Jobs, quotes, and files remain with the workspace according to your settings and permissions.

Where is my data stored?
QuoCAD may use cloud workspace storage, browser-local storage, or a hybrid model depending on your account state and configuration.
Read the full guide →Can I export my data?
Yes. Use Backup & data or privacy request tools where available to export your information.
Read the full guide →Can I delete my account?
Yes. Account deletion may require password confirmation and a typed confirmation. If you are the only member of a workspace, associated workspace data may also be removed.
Read the full guide →Can I request workspace data removal?
Yes. Use the privacy request flow or contact support.
Read the full guide →Does QuoCAD provide legal or engineering advice?
No. QuoCAD helps with takeoffs, layouts, estimates, reports, and quotes. You remain responsible for final measurements, site verification, permits, engineering requirements, accessibility requirements, and local compliance.
Troubleshooting
I cannot sign in. What should I do?
Check your password, confirm your email if needed, wait if there were too many attempts, and clear QuoCAD cookies if the session appears stuck.
Read the full guide →I signed in but do not see my jobs. What should I do?
Confirm you are in the correct account and workspace. If you previously used local/browser storage, check Backup & data for browser drafts or merge options.
Read the full guide →The editor is slow or freezing. What should I do?
Use Chrome or Edge on desktop, close unused tabs, refresh the page, reduce very large images or layers, and try a larger-screen device.
Read the full guide →The satellite map is unavailable. What should I do?
Check your connection, then your billing status and workspace permissions. Azure imagery needs the Pro plan or higher; Mapbox is available on every plan. You can always upload your own site plan or drone photo instead.
Read the full guide →My quote is using the wrong customer email. What should I do?
Recheck the linked customer/contact and the visible recipient email before sending or exporting. If the job address differs from the customer address, confirm you selected the correct customer.
Read the full guide →How do I contact support?
Email support@quocad.com and include your workspace name, user email, page URL, job name, a screenshot or recording, browser and device, and any error code shown.

Does QuoCAD guarantee compliance or accuracy?
No. QuoCAD helps with takeoffs, layouts, estimates, reports, and quotes, but you remain responsible for final measurements, site verification, pricing, permits, engineering requirements, accessibility requirements, and local compliance before work is performed.
Does QuoCAD replace engineering or city approval?
No. QuoCAD helps prepare estimates, takeoffs, layouts, reports, and contractor documents. Your team is still responsible for final measurements, site verification, customer approval, engineering requirements, permits, and compliance with local rules.
Do I have to agree to anything to use QuoCAD?
Yes. When you create an account you tick a box confirming you have read and agree to the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Addendum. We record which version of each you agreed to and when, because an agreement nobody can prove was made is not much of an agreement. If you do not agree to them, do not use QuoCAD. If we make a material change we will ask you to accept the new version rather than treat your continued use as agreement.
Do I need to sign a data processing agreement?
No — you already have one. The Data Processing Addendum at /dpa applies automatically when you accept the Terms, so there is nothing to request or sign. It covers what we do with the information you record about your customers: our security measures, the providers we use, how we help with your customers' requests, what happens after a breach, and the safeguards for data leaving your region. If your own compliance needs a countersigned copy, email support and we will provide one.
Read the full guide →Does QuoCAD check my layout against the ADA or the AODA?
No. QuoCAD does not determine or certify compliance with the ADA, the AODA, or any local code. The editor can show a rough accessible-stall count hint, and it is a planning aid only — a message saying a count looks sufficient is not an approval. It checks nothing about stall or aisle dimensions, slope, placement, routes or signage, and it draws the stalls and symbols where you place them. Verify every accessible layout against the governing code and the authority having jurisdiction before work is performed.
